WHY THIS MATTERS
Advocacy should be connected to the people it speaks for.
I believe meaningful advocacy begins with listening. It means understanding what people are experiencing, creating platforms for those experiences to be heard and then turning conversation into access, opportunity and action.
Much of my work has centred on South Asian, Tamil communities and women of colour in Australia, particularly around representation, belonging, entrepreneurship, young people and the spaces where culture, identity and opportunity intersect.
For me, representation is not about simply being visible. It is about having a voice, having access and being able to influence the spaces where decisions are made.

South Asian Representation
Creating greater visibility, access and participation for South Asian Australians across business, leadership, media, public life and community decision-making.
Women, Girls & Opportunity
Creating spaces where women and young girls can see possibility, build confidence, connect with others and access opportunities that may not otherwise feel available to them.
Tamil Community & Identity
Supporting conversations around Tamil identity, culture, diaspora experience, heritage and the issues affecting Tamil communities in Australia and beyond.
Multicultural Australia
Advocating for a multicultural Australia where culturally diverse communities are not simply celebrated symbolically, but meaningfully included in leadership, policy and public conversation.

Community is more than bringing people into a room.
It is the trust people place in you, the opportunities you create and what remains after the event is over.
Listen before leading.
The people closest to an issue should help shape the conversation around it.
Representation needs substance.
Visibility matters, but it should lead to access, participation and influence.
Create with, not for.
Strong communities are built collaboratively rather than designed from a distance.
Make room for the next generation.
Community work should create pathways for new voices and future leaders, not preserve the same gatekeepers.

I have spent years working directly with community members, founders, volunteers, organisations and partners. That experience shapes how I approach advocacy: practically, collaboratively and with an understanding that communities are never one-dimensional.
